Dayton Freight Lines is seeking Transportation/Linehaul Drivers. Mileage pay starts at $0.84 per mile with an average weekly pay around $2,300.

The role emphasizes safety, regular inspections and long or irregular trips with a strong, friendly culture and comprehensive benefits. Qualified drivers hold a valid Class A CDL with HazMat and Tank endorsements, DOT Medical Card, and have at least 2 years of commercial driving experience.

Formación

• At least 23 years old.
• At least 2 years of commercial driving experience.
• Valid Class A CDL with Hazardous Materials and Tank Endorsement.
• Valid DOT Physical/Medical Card.
• No DUI or reckless driving convictions in past 3 years.
• Less than 2 moving violations in past 3 years.

Responsabilidades

• Transport, load and unload freight between Service Centers safely and efficiently.
• Perform pre- and post-trip inspections of tractor/trailer.
• Maintain cleanliness of the vehicle and equipment.
• Interact with internal customers and coworkers professionally.
• Safely operate forklift for loading/unloading when required.
• Be available for irregular schedules and long trips as needed.
• Follow operational procedures and guidelines.

Responsibilities

Transportation Drivers are responsible for transporting, loading and unloading freight in a productive, safe and claims-free manner between our Service Centers.

• Perform pre and post trip inspections on tractor/trailer
• Affix correct placards to tractor/trailer when necessary
• Maintain cleanliness of company vehicle
• Interact and converse with internal customers
• Safely operate a forklift to unload/ load products when indicated and needed
• Be available for irregular work schedules, extended trips away from domiciled Service Center, alternating work shifts and/or assignments
• Adhere to the operational procedures and guidelines

Qualifications

• At least 23 years of age
• At least 2 years of commercial driving experience
• Valid Class A CDL with Hazardous Materials and Tank Endorsement
• Valid DOT Physical/Medical Card
• No DUI, Citation/Conviction for Reckless Operations in the past 3 years
• Less than 2 moving violations in the past 3 years
• Basic math skills
• Fluent in English
• Legally eligible to work in the United States
• Able to pass a drug screen

Physical Demands

The position requires the ability to safely operate a commercial motor vehicle and perform routine physical tasks associated with driving and equipment inspections.
