McLane is seeking a Trainee Component Driver to learn the essential functions of distributing products to customer locations. You will gain exposure to warehouse operations while developing driving skills under supervision, with a path to becoming a Driver. This role emphasizes safety, reliable delivery, and customer service.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred
• Possess a Class A CDL
• Be at least 21 years of age
• Read and comprehend labels, instructions, and bills of lading
• Ability to read, write, and understand English sufficiently for tasks

Responsibilities

• Maneuver tractor into position to attach trailer and handle lines to secure
• Operates truck in a safe manner in accordance with regulations and company policies
• Inspect tractor-trailer equipment for defects pre/post trip and submit DOT inspection report
• Operates Driver Delivery Handheld (DDH) and documents delivery receipts, temps, and exceptions
• Rides with Driver Trainer to learn and observe driving and safety procedures
• Maintain driver log according to DOT regulations
• Assist the Driver in unloading and delivering product
• Provide customer service including on-time delivery and returns
