Job summary

McLane is hiring a CDL-A Driver Trainee to start a career in transportation and distribution. You will receive paid training, hands-on coaching, and the support needed to become a successful McLane Driver.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Possess a Class A CDL.
• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Meet McLane's MVR and risk rating qualifications.
• Read and comprehend labels, instructions, and bills of lading.
• Perform mathematical calculations to verify quantities.
• Communicate with customers, management, and teammates.
• Safely drive a tractor-trailer and use related equipment.
• English reading/writing sufficient to perform tasks.

Responsibilities

• Maneuver tractor into position to attach trailer and handle lines to secure.
• Operate truck safely in compliance with regulations and policies.
• Inspect equipment for defects and submit DOT inspection report.
• Document delivery receipts and product temperatures; monitor exceptions.
• Learn regulations and driving techniques with Driver Trainer.
• Maintain driver log according to DOT regulations.
• Assist in unloading and delivering product at customer premises.
• Provide customer service including on-time delivery and handling returns.
