Job summary

McLane Company, Inc. is seeking a CDL-A Driver Trainee in the United States. You’ll receive paid training, hands-on coaching, and a clear path to a final pay of $90,000–$95,000 per year after earning your CDL-A.

From day one, you’ll gain experience within a national distribution network, with competitive pay during training at $21.00 per hour and a $5,000 trainee retention bonus, plus comprehensive benefits and life insurance options.

Qualifications

• Must have a Class A CDL and be at least 21 years old.
• Must meet McLane’s MVR and risk rating qualifications.
• Ability to read and comprehend labels, instructions, and bills of lading.
• Excellent communication with customers, management, and teammates.
• Familiarity with DOT regulations and safe driving practices.

Responsibilities

• Maneuver tractor into position to attach trailer and secure it.
• Operate truck safely in compliance with regulations.
• Inspect tractor-trailer equipment for defects and file DOT reports.
• Use DDH to document deliveries and temperatures.
• Ride with Driver Trainer to learn turning, backing, and maneuvering.
• Maintain driver logs per DOT regulations.
• Assist in unloading and delivering products to customers.
• Provide on-time delivery and handle customer credits.
