Job summary

McLane is seeking CDL-A Driver Trainees in Minnesota to embark on a paid training program and develop a full driving career. From day one, you will receive coaching, earn competitive pay, and access comprehensive benefits as you transition to a Driver role within a respected transportation team.

You will train with experienced Driver Trainers, learn safety and regulatory compliance, and gain hands-on experience in loading, unloading, and delivering to customers.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Must possess a Class A CDL.
• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Meet McLane's MVR and risk rating qualifications.
• Read and comprehend labels, instructions, and bills of lading.
• Perform mathematical calculations to verify quantities.
• Communicate with customers, management, and other teammates.
• Ability to read, write, and understand English to perform tasks safely.

Responsibilities

• Maneuver tractor into position to attach trailer and secure lines.
• Operate truck safely in compliance with regulations and policies.
• Inspect tractor-trailer for defects and submit DOT inspections.
• Operate DDH and document deliveries and temperatures.
• Ride with Trainer to learn routes and driving regulations.
• Maintain driver logs per DOT regulations.
• Assist in unloading and delivering product to customers.
• Provide on-time delivery and handle customer credits as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.
