Overview

Schedule: M-F, 6:00am-4:30pm; occasional Saturdays.

Pay: $26.50 per hour.

The ideal applicant will have 1 year of experience operating a tractor-trailer with a manual transmission (no restrictions) and 1-year forklift experience preferred. Baler experience preferred. Willing to complete mandatory 2-week training in Arizona. The role requires operating a commercial vehicle with a manual transmission at this site.

I. Job Summary

Safely operates a tractor-trailer or a straight truck with a pup trailer (or other vehicle requiring a class A CDL) to perform assigned duties on designated routes.

II. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Operates vehicle in accordance with OSHA, DOT, local, state and federal requirements and Company expectations; maintains a clean and safe vehicle.
  • Performs pre- and post-trip inspections using standard eDVIR; notes issues on eDVIR for corrective review/repair.
  • Immediately reports any unsafe situations or unscheduled service calls to Operations Manager and Dispatch before attempting service.
  • Participates in scheduled training, briefings, and meetings as required by Operations Manager.
  • Works with Operations Managers and Dispatch to improve route efficiencies and identify problem or unsafe accounts.
  • Performs duties as scheduled by Operations Manager and Dispatch; assists other drivers as directed.
  • Notifies Operations Manager of incidents, accidents, injuries, or property damage.
  • Notifies Operations Manager and Dispatch of issues per Service Machine protocol (e.g., blocked containers, incomplete services, route problems).
  • Communicates customer requests, issues, or service changes to Operations Manager and Dispatch.
  • Fully dumps containers and leaves customer locations clean and free of debris; positions containers without blocking driveways or traffic.
  • Follows route assignments and completes all documentation when checking in at the end of the route.
III. Qualifications

  • Education and Experience: Education - None required. Experience - 1 year operating a vehicle requiring a CDL or 1 year equivalent military driving within the last 7 years.
  • Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Commercial Driver License (CDL) Class A upon hire required.
  • Other Knowledge, Skills or Abilities: Must be at least 18 years of age; legally eligible to work in the United States; ability to perform physical requirements with/without reasonable accommodations; successfully complete pre-employment DOT drug screen and DOT physical.
