Job summary

American Iron & Metal is seeking a skilled CDL-A Driver to join our Transportation team. You will responsibly transport metal materials to and from client sites and AIM facilities, ensuring safety and compliance with regulations.

The role offers local routes with potential out-of-state work based on qualifications, OT after 40 hours, and a supportive team environment dedicated to career development.

Qualifications

• Valid CDL A with a clean MVR and medical.
• Experience driving 18 speed manual transmission.
• Minimum 2 years of CDL-A driver experience.
• Experience with flatbed, roll-off, lugger, or open top trailer.
• Physically fit and able to tarp 40 and 53yd bins.
• Familiar with metal recycling processes (asset).
• Able to load and unload as required.

Responsibilities

• Operating a Class A commercial vehicle to transport metal materials to and from designated locations, ensuring compliance with traffic laws and company policies
• Safely loading and unloading metal materials onto the truck using appropriate equipment and secure the load to prevent shifting or damage during transit
• Local runs, with opportunities for out of state runs depending on qualification and availability
• Performing manual tarping if necessary
• Performing routine pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the truck, ensuring that it is in good working condition
• Completing accurate and thorough records of deliveries and any other required documentation
