Job summary

QXO, a leading distributor and installer of building products, seeks a CDL A driver to perform touch-freight duties and ensure safe, timely deliveries. You will pre-inspect vehicles, load materials, and monitor loads while communicating with dispatch to meet schedule.

Ideal candidates will have at least 1 year of verifiable commercial driving experience, be willing to work outdoors in all weather, and uphold DOT and safety standards while supporting a team-driven delivery operation.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid Class A CDL in good standing.
• At least 12 months of verifiable commercial driving experience.
• Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Ability to lift/move heavy loads up to 75 lbs and maintain safe handling.

Responsibilities

• Perform touch-freight tasks, including lifting and carrying products up to 75 lbs.
• Pre-inspect the truck, load materials, and verify load accuracy.
• Notify branch management of potential hazards on site.
• Set up job parameters and inspect site to ensure safe loading/unloading.
• Maintain regular communication with dispatcher to ensure timely delivery.
• Follow DOT and company safety procedures and wear appropriate PPE.

What you'll do:

• Perform touch-freight tasks, which may require lifting, moving, or carrying products weighing over 75 lbs
• Pre-inspect the truck, load materials, and verify the accuracy of the load
• Notify branch management of any potential hazards on site
• Set up job parameters and inspect the site to ensure a safe environment for loading and unloading
• Maintain regular communication with the dispatcher to ensure timely delivery of products
• Follow all DOT and company safety procedures, and always wear appropriate PPE

What you'll bring:

• Must be 21 years of age or older
• Valid Class A CDL license in good standing
• At least 12 months of verifiable commercial driving experience
• Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
