Job summary

Keeley Construction is seeking an experienced Class A CDL Driver in Phoenix, AZ. The driver will safely operate heavy vehicles, perform inspections, and ensure secure, compliant transportation of equipment and materials to job sites.

The role requires 3+ years of experience, the ability to handle loaded trucks, and flexibility for travel and varied schedules to support project operations.

Qualifications

  • Valid Class A CDL with required endorsements.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience operating Class A commercial vehicles in construction / heavy haul.
  • Capable of performing pre-trip and post-trip inspections and DOT compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate Class A commercial vehicles to transport heavy machinery and materials.
  • Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections per DOT and company standards.
  • Secure, balance and distribute loads per regulations and company procedures.
  • Transport oversized and overweight loads per permits and routes.
  • Operate trucks with 18-speed manual transmissions in varying conditions.
  • Assist with loading/unloading and maintain equipment.
  • Maintain driver logs, inspections, mileage, and transportation documents.
  • Coordinate with dispatch and project teams for timely deliveries.

Our Milling Services Division in Phoenix, AZ is seeking an experienced Class A CDL Driver to join our team.A driver in the construction world operates various vehicles to transport materials, equipment, and personnel to and from construction sites. They are responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient transportation of goods and materials, adhering to all traffic laws and regulations. Construction drivers may operate dump trucks, flatbed trucks, or heavy equipment transporters depending on the specific needs of the project. Additionally, they often assist with loading and unloading materials, as well as maintaining the cleanliness and functionality of their vehicles.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Safely operate Class A commercial vehicles, including lowbed and flatbed trailers, to transport heavy machinery, construction equipment, materials, and supplies to and from job sites.
  • Conduct thorough pre-trip, post-trip, and DOT-required inspections to ensure trucks, trailers, and equipment are safe, compliant, and in proper working condition.
  • Properly secure, balance, and distribute loads in accordance with company standards, DOT regulations, and load securement requirements.
  • Safely transport oversized and overweight loads while complying with all local, state, and federal regulations, permit requirements, weight restrictions, and designated routes.
  • Operate vehicles equipped with 18-speed manual transmissions safely and efficiently in varying road, traffic, and weather conditions.
  • Assist with the loading and unloading of equipment, materials, and supplies using proper safety procedures and equipment handling practices.
  • Perform routine vehicle inspections, preventative maintenance, fueling, cleaning, and minor repairs to maintain operational readiness.
  • Promptly identify and report equipment issues, mechanical problems, and required repairs to Fleet Operations or management.
  • Maintain accurate driver logs, inspection reports, mileage records, fuel consumption reports, permits, and transportation documentation.
  • Coordinate with dispatch, project managers, shop personnel, and field crews to ensure timely deliveries, pickups, and project support.
  • Organize equipment and materials in the yard and assist in maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient shop, yard, and work environment.
  • Travel and work flexible schedules, including days, nights, weekends, and out-of-town assignments as needed to support project operations.
  • Utilize company vehicles, tools, and equipment safely while adhering to all company policies, procedures, and safety standards.
  • Demonstrate a strong commitment to safety by identifying hazards, following site-specific safety requirements, and promoting a culture of safety.
  • Assist yard, shop, and field operations with additional duties as assigned to support overall project success.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with all required endorsements.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience operating Class A commercial vehicles in construction, heavy haul, transportation, or a related industry.
  • Clean, inspect, service, and test equipment upon return and prior to loading.
  • Assist in loading and unloading equipment promptly and per company procedures.
  • Assist in making minor repairs to equipment.
  • Utilize company tools and equipment safely and properly.
  • Perform tasks such as fueling equipment.
  • Promptly report equipment problems and needed parts.
  • Organize equipment in the yard and maintain a clean company facility and workstation.
  • Deliver and pick up equipment and supplies as needed.
  • Operate company vehicles safely.
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
  • Assist the yard and shop with other tasks as needed.
