Job Summary

To serve our customers by safely and efficiently transporting products from the warehouse by driving a tractor-trailer to various customers and properly delivering and unloading products according to customer invoices and company standards.

Responsibilities

• Unload product from trailer, by hand or using a hand cart down ramps, stairs, or docks, in all weather conditions and places in designated customer storage areas according to customer specifications and company standards.
• Ensure all paperwork is completed according to established guidelines, including DOT logs, inspections, maintenance reports, and invoices.
• Ensure all food safety protocols are met, maintaining proper temperatures, inspecting products, and preventing cross-contamination.
• Develop and establish good relationships with customers by providing excellent and courteous service with clear communication.
• Other duties as assigned by management.

Minimum Education/Experience

• High school diploma/GED/equivalent, plus one year of tractor trailer driving experience preferred. Completion of a tractor trailer driving school accepted in lieu of diploma.

Certifications and Technical Requirements

• Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License. Must be insurable.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Knowledge of DOT regulations, Hazmat guidelines, and safe lifting practices. Skills in long-distance driving, customer communication, problem-solving, and product delivery. Ability to drive various vehicles, operate onboard computers, and perform basic math. Capable of planning, organizing, and working independently.

Physical Demands

Regularly required to sit, talk, hear, lift up to 50 pounds, push/pull up to 350 pounds, climb in/out of vehicles, reach, bend, and twist. Vision abilities include close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth perception.

Work Environment

Occasionally exposed to wet, hot, cold, humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, confined spaces, high places, fumes, airborne particles, and noise. Work includes overnight shifts, weekends, holidays, and varied start times.
