Job summary

AAA Cooper Transportation, Inc. in Charleston, SC is seeking a full-time Pick-up and Delivery Driver to safely operate commercial motor vehicles and deliver freight on time, with home nightly.

You will load/unload, document shipments, and maintain regulatory records in a customer-focused role. Qualified candidates have a Class A CDL with hazmat and doubles/triples endorsements, at least one year of driving experience, and a clean DOT drug test and physical.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Class A CDL with hazmat and double/triple endorsements.
• One year driving experience required.
• Pass DOT pre-employment drug screen and DOT physical.
• Read, write, speak English well.
• Knowledge of DOT regulations.
• Flexible hours.
• Ability to be forklift certified.

Responsibilities

• Perform safe and legal operation of commercial motor vehicles.
• Load and unload trailers and move freight across the terminal dock.
• Record quantity and type of shipments using bills of lading and delivery receipts.
• Maintain records required for compliance with state and federal regulations.
• Develop and maintain professional relations with customers.
• Hook and unhook trailers and manage landing gear.
• Inspect equipment for defects and safe operating condition.
• Fuel trucks and tractors.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.
