US FOODS is hiring a CDL A Delivery Driver for Weyers Cave, VA. You will deliver products safely, back into docks, and unload with precision, 100% touch freight from time to time. Start time is 4:30 AM, with a strong safety culture and customer-first approach.

Qualifications

Must register to the FMCSA Clearinghouse.
Must be at least 21 years of age.
Must have valid CDL Class A with endorsements and DOT qualifications.
Minimum 6 months of commercial driving experience (any industry) or 3 months in food/beverage delivery.
Ability to operate manual transmission preferred; may be required in some locations.
Must be able to read and communicate in English.

Responsibilities

Safe driving: Deliver products to customers in a timely and safe manner.
Unloading: 100% touch freight using a two-wheeler, ramp, or by hand.
Delivery verification: Verify deliveries with customers and obtain signatures.
Customer service: Provide professional service to enhance customer experience.
Equipment inspection: Conduct pre- and post-trip inspections.
Account management: Handle collections and payments when applicable.
Adaptability: Perform other duties as assigned by management.

CDL A Delivery Driver - Position Overview

You'll safely navigate the highway and city streets, back into tight docks, and unload with precision. The CDL A Delivery Driver role goes beyond simply transporting goods - it's about perfecting the craft of delivery, earning trust mile by mile, and serving as a vital link to our customers.

Key Responsibilities

Safe Driving : Deliver products to our customers in a timely and safe manner
Unloading: Skillfully unload products efficiently using a two-wheeler, ramp, or by hand, placing them in the designated storage areas - 100% touch freight
Delivery Verification: Verify deliveries with customers & secure signatures
Customer Service: Provide professional service to enhance customer experience
Equipment Inspection: Conduct pre- & post-trip inspections to uphold safety standards
Account Management: Handle collections and payments when applicable
Adaptability: All other duties assigned by management

Physical Requirements

Lift/carry/push/pull 20 to 80+ lbs. of product repetitively during each shift required
Working in inclement weather conditions with frequent stops (10+ per shift) required

Qualifications

Register to the FMCSA Clearinghouse*
Must be at least 21 years of age
Must have valid CDL Class A issued by the state of legal residence with necessary endorsements and DOT qualifications
Minimum 6-months commercial driving experience (any industry) OR 3-months commercial driving experience in the food and/or beverage delivery industry required
Ability to operate manual transmission preferred; may be required in specific locations
Must be able to read and communicate in the English language - able to hold a conversation, to understand highway traffic signs and signals, to respond to official inquiries, and to enter information on reports and records

Registering to the FMCSA Clearinghouse is a requirement by the Department of Transportation. All Drivers are required to visit the Clearinghouse website and register to the new database. Compensation depends on relevant experience and/or education, specific skills, function, geographic location, and other factors as applicable by law (for example: state minimum wage thresholds). The expected base rate for this role is between $15.95/hr and $45.00/hr.
