Job summary

US FOODS is seeking a CDL A Delivery Driver in Midlothian, VA. You’ll safely navigate highways and city streets, back into docks, and unload with precision while delivering trust and reliability to our customers.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid CDL Class A.
• Minimum 6 months commercial driving experience, or 3 months in food/beverage delivery.
• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Must register with FMCSA Clearinghouse.

Responsibilities

• Deliver products to customers in a timely and safe manner.
• Unload products using a two-wheeler, ramp, or by hand.
• Verify deliveries with customers and obtain signatures.
• Provide professional customer service.
• Perform pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections.
• Handle collections and payments when applicable.
• All other duties assigned by management.

CDL A Delivery Driver – Position Overview

You’ll safely navigate the highway and city streets, back into tight docks, and unload with precision. The CDL A Delivery Driver role goes beyond simply transporting goods - it’s about perfecting the craft of delivery, earning trust mile by mile, and serving as a vital link to our customers.

Key Responsibilities

• Safe Driving: Deliver products to our customers in a timely and safe manner
• Unloading: Skillfully unload products efficiently using a two-wheeler, ramp, or by hand, placing them in the designated storage areas – 100% touch freight
• Delivery Verification: Verify deliveries with customers & secure signatures
• Customer Service: Provide professional service to enhance customer experience
• Equipment Inspection: Conduct pre- & post-trip inspections to uphold safety standards
• Account Management: Handle collections and payments when applicable
• Adaptability: All other duties assigned by management

Physical Requirements

• Lift/carry/push/pull 20 to 80+ lbs. of product repetitively during each shift required
• Working in inclement weather conditions with frequent stops (10+ per shift) required

Qualifications

• Register to the FMCSA Clearinghouse*
• Must be at least 21 years of age
• Must have valid CDL Class A issued by the state of legal residence with necessary endorsements and DOT qualifications
• Minimum 6-months commercial driving experience (any industry) OR 3-months commercial driving experience in the food and/or beverage delivery industry required
• Ability to operate manual transmission preferred; may be required in specific locations
• Must be able to read and communicate in the English language - able to hold a conversation, to understand highway traffic signs and signals, to respond to official inquiries, and to enter information on reports and records

Compensation depends on relevant experience and/or education, specific skills, function, geographic location, and other factors as applicable by law (for example: state minimum wage thresholds). The expected base rate for this role is between $15.95/hr and $45.00/hr.

As applicable, this role may also receive: overtime compensation, retention bonus, component pay (i.e., based on cases, mileage, stops).
