Job summary

Gordon Food Service is seeking a CDL A Delivery Driver - Relief Driver in Chesterfield, MI. The role involves delivering food products to customers, building relationships, and returning home daily on local routes.

Expect to unload up to 100 lbs, use a ramp and two-wheel cart, and comply with safety and DOT requirements. Schedule is Monday–Friday with early morning shifts; drivers average $80–90K per year, with a guaranteed weekly minimum and pay per mile, stop, and case delivered.

Qualifications

• At least 21 years of age.
• Class A CDL License at hire.
• Ability to lift up to 100 lbs throughout shift.
• Read, write, and communicate in English.
• Successfully pass a drug test and background check.
• Clean driving record; DOT standards apply.
• Must be registered through the DOT Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse and provide electronic consent.

Responsibilities

• Deliver food products to customers including restaurants, schools, hospitals, and universities.
• Build relationships with customers during local routes and home daily.
• Unload cases up to 100 lbs; use ramp and two-wheeler.
• Follow safety and DOT regulations; read labels and pick lists.

CDL A Delivery Driver - Relief Driver

Location

50471 E Russell Schmidt Blvd., Chesterfield

Do you have a passion for driving? Are you looking for more home time? Picture yourself as a delivery driver with Gordon Food Service! In this position, you will be building relationships with customers while delivering food products essential to restaurants, schools, hospitals, universities, and more. Day shifts and local routes mean you’ll be home every day. You’ll be required to unload cases up to 100 lbs, and you’ll be using a ramp and two-wheeler throughout your shift. Schedule

Monday - Friday starting between 4-10AM

Pay

Drivers average $80-90K /year

• Guaranteed minimum of $1,100/week
• Daily base pay, plus component pay
• Paid for every mile driven, stop made, and case delivered

Does this look like you?

• At least 21 years of age
• Class A CDL License at hire
• Ability to operate a two-wheel cart with loads of up to 350 pounds
• Ability to lift up to 100 lbs throughout the shift
• Must be able to read, write, and communicate in English (to read labels, pick lists, scanners, signage, company website information related to benefits, updates, complete paperwork, and follow verbal instructions)
• Successfully pass a drug test that will assess drug usage (including marijuana) and a background check
• Clean driving record; as required by DOT and Gordon Food Service standards
• You must be registered through the Department of Transportation Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse and provide electronic consent in order to be considered for employment with us effective January 6th, 2020.
