Job summary

QXO is seeking a CDL driver to join our team in Baton Rouge, LA. The role involves touch-freight handling, loading and unloading, and ensuring load accuracy, while maintaining safety protocols on site.

You will pre-inspect trucks, communicate with dispatch, and comply with DOT safety procedures. Must be at least 21 with a valid Class A CDL and 12+ months of verifiable driving experience, able to work outdoors in all weather and independently or in a team.

Qualifications

• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• Valid Class A CDL license in good standing.
• At least 12 months of verifiable commercial driving experience.
• Experience operating heavy equipment and driving a manual transmission truck.
• Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Perform touch-freight tasks, which may require lifting, moving, or carrying products weighing over 75 lbs
• Pre-inspect the truck, load materials, and verify the accuracy of the load
• Notify branch management of any potential hazards on site
• Set up job parameters and inspect the site to ensure a safe environment for loading and unloading
• Maintain regular communication with the dispatcher to ensure timely delivery of products
• Follow all DOT and company safety procedures, and always wear appropriate PPE
