Job summary

Universal Logistics Holdings, Inc. is hiring a Class A CDL driver to join its Big Wheels fleet in the Metro-Detroit area. The role involves transporting freight, performing routine vehicle inspections, and adhering to DOT regulations to ensure on-time deliveries.

You will be part of a team that experiences daily home time, with shifts Monday through Friday and potential weekend work. Benefits include health, dental, and vision after 90 days, PTO, holidays, and shift options.

Qualifications

• Must hold a Class A CDL.
• Minimum 6 months verifiable tractor trailer experience in the last year.
• Clean driving record with proven safe-driving history.
• No DUI/OWI in the last 5 years; no more than 2 moving violations in 3 years.
• Strong time management and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Operate a Class A commercial vehicle to transport freight to and from customer locations.
• Conduct pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections of the truck and trailer.
• Follow all DOT regulations, safety procedures, and company policies.
• Secure and handle freight properly (may include loading/unloading depending on the employer).
• Maintain accurate logs, delivery records, and documentation.
• Communicate effectively with dispatch, customers, and other team members.
• Report mechanical issues or safety concerns promptly.
• Adhere to schedules while practicing safe driving habits.

REQUIREMENTS

• Must be at least 21 years of age
• Class A CDL
• 6 months of verifiable tractor trailer experience in the last year
• Clean driving record with proven safe-driving history

• No more than 2 moving violations in the last 3 years
• No more than 2 preventable accidents in the last 3 years
• Strong time management & communication skills
