Job summary

Universal Logistics Holdings is hiring for CDL-A Truck Driver positions in the Metro Detroit area. Operate Class A trucks, perform pre/post-trip inspections, and ensure DOT compliance while delivering freight efficiently.

We offer flat-rate/mileage pay up to $295 daily, Monday–Friday with potential weekends, home daily, 50–60 hour weeks, and benefits after 90 days including health, dental & vision. PTO and paid holidays are provided, with both shifts available.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 months verifiable tractor-trailer experience in the last year.
• Class A CDL required.
• Clean driving record with safe-driving history.
• No DUI/OWI in the last 5 years.
• No more than 2 moving violations in the last 3 years.
• No more than 2 preventable accidents in the last 3 years.

Responsibilities

• Operate a Class A commercial vehicle to transport freight to and from customer locations.
• Conduct pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections of the truck and trailer.
• Follow DOT regulations, safety procedures, and company policies.
• Secure and handle freight as required (may include loading/unloading).
• Maintain logs and delivery records accurately.
• Communicate with dispatch, customers, and team members.
• Report mechanical issues or safety concerns promptly.
• Adhere to schedules and practice safe driving at all times.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Operate a Class A commercial vehicle to transport freight to and from customer locations.

Conduct pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections of the truck and trailer.

Follow all DOT regulations, safety procedures, and company policies.

Secure and handle freight properly (may include loading/unloading depending on the employer).

Maintain accurate electronic or paper logs, delivery records, and documentation.

Communicate effectively with dispatch, customers, and other team members.

Report mechanical issues or safety concerns promptly.

Adhere to schedules while practicing safe driving habits at all times.

REQUIREMENTS:

Must be at least 21 years of age

Class A CDL

6 months of verifiable tractor trailer experience in the last year

Clean driving record with proven safe-driving history

No DUI/OWI in the last 5 years

No more than 2 moving violations in the last 3 years

No more than 2 preventable accidents in the last 3 years

Strong time management & communication skills
