Würth Baer Supply Company in West Haven, CT is hiring a permanent CDL driver to perform daily customer deliveries. Schedule is Monday to Friday, 8:00am–4:30pm ET or until route completion, with no nights or weekends. $27.00 per hour starting pay (non-negotiable) plus biweekly pay and a $2,000 performance bonus.

Qualifications

• Must be comfortable wearing a company uniform and protective footwear.
• Safe Driving Record (MVR).
• Must have CDL-B or CDL-A.
• Must have Valid DOT Medical Card.
• Must be able to drive a manual if required for alternate trucks.

Responsibilities

• Load truck with materials using forklift or by hand (40–80 lbs) as needed.
• Secure load to truck and ensure safe travel between stops.
• Back into docks and navigate tight loading areas safely.
• Deliver to 4–10 stops daily in CT, Southern NY and MA.
• Provide excellent customer service and communicate with management.
• Use Samsara ELD to perform pre-trip inspections and status checks.

Würth Baer Supply Company is looking for a permanent addition to our team at our location in WEST HAVEN, CT. We are targeting a CDL-A Driver to perform customer deliveries.

Permanent Role

Compensation

$2000 Performance Bonus

• $1000 after 90 days (3 months) and $1000 after 180 days (6 months)
• Paid for drivers in good standing with the company
• Consistent on-time arrival to work, good attendance, good attitude, work safety, and work quality are all factored into the evaluation of being in good standing

Duties

• Load truck with sit-down propane forklift and by hand as needed with materials such as drawer slides, hinges, door and cabinetry handles, hand/power tools, sandpaper goods, paint/stain, plywood, cabinetry, synthetic countertop materials, and laminate goods.
• Secure load to truck by tying down to ascertain safe travel between stops
• Must be comfortable backing in towards small dock doors and be confident steering safely around tight loading/unloading areas as needed
• This role requires touching freight!
• Pass goods to customers by hand weighing 40lbs to 80lbs as needed
• Deliver to between 4 and 10 stops daily – State of CT + Southern NY and MA
• 200 daily driving miles depending on assigned routes
• Provide excellent customer service and communicate as needed with management pertaining to customer questions and concerns
• Utilize Samsara Electronic Logging Device (ELD) on company cell phone to perform pre-trip inspections and demonstrate DOT-compliant on-duty status, etc. in lieu of paper logs. Cameras facing in the cabin towards the driver as well as on the road ahead to protect the company in driver in the event of any incidents.

• Must be comfortable wearing a company uniform and protective footwear (composite or steel toe)
• Safe Driving Record (MVR)
• Must have CDL-B or CDL-A
• Must have Valid DOT Med Card (Medical Examiner's Certificate)
• Even though you will drive an automatic, we require our drivers to be able to drive a manual in case Penske (our truck lessor) sends a 10-speed manual transmission during routine maintenance on one of the automatic transmission trucks.
