Job summary

Qualifications

• Class A CDL with hazmat/tank endorsements.
• One year of driving experience within the last three years or completion of FedEx Freight Driver Development Course.
• Must have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) per hiring standards.
• Must meet DOT regulatory requirements under FMC regulations.

Responsibilities

• Operate tractor-trailer combinations including doubles/triples where applicable.
• Perform pre-trip and safety inspections of equipment.
• Hook/unhook trailers and convert dollies as needed.
• Handle freight with motorized/manual equipment (forklift, pallet jack, hand truck).
• Secure freight in trailers using pallets, straps, or rope.
• Recoup/repair damaged freight as needed.
• Complete required documentation and reports.
• Comply with hazardous material regulations.
• Collect payments for freight charges when required and maintain docs.
• Follow dispatch instructions and communicate delays/arrivals/equipment issues.
• Communicate with customers to plan pickups/deliveries and solicit additional business.
• Provide internal and external customer service and seek new opportunities.
