Job summary

FedEx Freight is seeking a Driver to pick up and deliver freight between service centers and customers. You will operate tractor-trailers, perform daily safety inspections, and assist in selling process by communicating with customers and dispatch.

Responsibilities include securing loads, documenting trips, and maintaining compliance with DOT regulations. The role requires strong safety focus, reliability, and the ability to lift up to 100 lbs.

Qualifications

• Must possess a Class A CDL with double/triple, hazmat and tank endorsements (automatic restriction allowed).
• Must possess one (1) year of experience within the last three years or successful completion of FedEx Freight Driver Development Course.
• Must possess an acceptable MVR based on hiring standards.
• Must meet all DOT regulatory requirements under 49 CFR part 383 and 391.
• Ability to count and perform basic math, with or without a calculator.
• Basic written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to lift/carry hand freight weighing up to 100 pounds several times a week.

Responsibilities

• Operate tractor-trailer combinations, including doubles and triple trailers where applicable.
• Perform daily pre-trip and safety inspections on equipment.
• Hook/unhook trailers and converter dollies.
• Conduct freight handling using appropriate equipment.
• Secure freight inside trailers with pallets, straps, and ropes.
• Recoup/repair damaged freight when necessary.
• Verify and complete required documentation and reports.
• Comply with hazardous material regulations and procedures.
• Communicate with dispatch and customers to determine pick-up/delivery needs and solicit additional business.
• Provide internal and external customer service and seek opportunities for additional business.
