Job summary

The role requires a Class A CDL with hazmat/tank endorsements (automatic allowed), MVR in good standing, and the ability to perform pre-trip inspections, secure loads, and maintain safety and DOT compliance. You will work with dispatch, pursue additional business, and may perform related duties to support operations.

Qualifications

• CDL Class A with double/triple, hazmat and tank endorsements; automatic transmission allowed.
• At least 1 year of driving experience in last 3 years or completion of FedEx Freight Driver Development Course.
• Acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) and compliance with DOT/FMCSA requirements.

Responsibilities

• Operate tractor-trailer combinations and straight trucks, including doubles/triples where applicable.
• Perform daily pre-trip and safety inspections of equipment.
• Hook/unhook trailers and secure freight inside trailers with pallets, straps and rope.
• Coordinate with dispatch and communicate delays, arrivals and equipment issues.
• Assist customers and solicit additional business for sales opportunities.
