Job summary

Frontier Distributing drivers are responsible for the safe transportation of products with daily variation of routes. Drivers operate box trucks or tractor-trailers over 26,000 lbs GVW and load/unload items using forklifts or hand carts.

The role reports to Transportation Supervisor; CDL required with intrastate license, High School Diploma, and ability to obtain/maintain CDL. Base pay ranges hourly, with Health Benefits after 60 days; schedule Tue-Fri with some Mondays.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• Minimum 1 year of CDL Driver experience.
• Must have or be able to obtain a valid intrastate CDL license and maintain it during employment.

Responsibilities

• Transports loads safely and on time across routes.
• Performs pre- and post-trip inspections and documents issues.
• Delivers parcels to correct addresses and obtains signatures.
• Maintains mileage logs and adherence to DOT/OSHA requirements.
• All other duties as assigned.

Summary

Frontier Distributing drivers are responsible for the safe transportation of products with daily variation of routes. Drivers are expected to drive a box truck or tractor-trailer combination with a capacity of more than 26,000 pounds Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW). Drivers are required to load and unload items using various methods. This position will report directly to the Transportation Supervisor.

Education and Experience Requirements

• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Minimum 1 years of experience as a CDL Driver
• Must have or be able to acquire a valid intrastate CDL license.
• You are required to uphold the CDL license that was possessed at the time of employment.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Use navigation tools such as onboard GPS, smartphone apps, and/or web-based or physical maps.
• Maintain basic logs and records.
• Carry out a series of instructions without constant supervision.
• Strong interpersonal and customer service skills with the ability to speak professionally and courteously with customers and staff.
• Ability to operate forklifts, pallet jacks, hand carts and vehicles in a variety of weather and traffic conditions.
• Ability to load and unload heavy, and awkward cargo utilizing forklifts, pallet jacks or hand carts.
• Ability to repeatedly lift up to 51 pounds at a time.

Essential Job Functions

• Transports loads safely and in a timely manner over required routes, including deliveries and pickups.
• Operates vehicle in accordance with Occupational and Safety Health Act (OSHA) and Department of Transportation (DOT) requirements as well as all local, state, and federal requirements and Company expectations for the Fleet; maintains a clean and safe vehicle.
• Performs pre- and post-trip inspections of assigned vehicle using utilizing standard DVIR (Driver Vehicle Inspection Report); notes all issues on DVIR form for corrective review/repair and fuel truck daily.
• Delivers parcels to correct addresses, obtaining signatures and proof of receipt, and maintain mileage logs.
• Ensures that delivery vehicle receives basic service according to maintenance schedule; reports larger service needs and mechanical issues to direct supervisor.
• Participates and cooperates in all scheduled training, briefings, and meetings as required.
• All other duties as assigned.

Schedule and Benefits

Pay: Class A starts at $24.00 per hour

Class B starts at $21.00 per hour.

Benefits: Health Benefits Begin 1 st of the month following 60 days

Schedule: Tuesday to Friday, with occasional inclusion of Mondays.
