Job summary

Methodist Health System in Dallas, TX is seeking a Team Lead of Clinical Documentation Improvement (CDI) to coordinate and supervise the CDI team. Responsibilities include assigning duties, training new staff, audits, DRG reconciliation, and supporting daily operations in a hospital setting.

The role requires RN licensure with CCDS/CDIP, a Bachelor's degree, and at least 5 years in CDI. CCS certification is preferred. The position is based in a clinical office environment with standard hours.

Qualifications

• RN, CCDS/CDIP required; CCS preferred, not required
• Minimum 5 years experience in Clinical Documentation Improvement
• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing. Bachelor’s degree.

Responsibilities

• Assist with daily CDI operations, including monitoring team productivity and quality initiatives.
• Provide input to CDI Director on staff performance and personnel issues.
• Conduct second-level chart reviews for CDI, coding and quality teams.
• Deliver CDI-related education to healthcare providers and staff.
• Coordinate training for new hires and ongoing education when processes/tech evolve.
• Identify CDI opportunities by prescreening charts and assigning to staff.
• Monitor CDI workflow and prioritize work-queues to meet deadlines.
• Supervise daily chart review process and guide questions via secure chat.
• Conduct CDI team chart review audits biannually.
• In the absence of the director, oversee day-to-day operations of the CDI department.
