Job summary

Connecticut Institute For Communities, Inc. in Norwalk is seeking a Child Development Associate (CDA) Specialist to support 1–2 Head Start classrooms and assist with daily routines, curriculum implementation, meals, and related activities for children from 6 months to 5 years.

Under the direction of Lead Teachers and the Education Services Professional, the CDA Specialist helps deliver nurturing care, maintains safety, and participates in screening and development activities.

Qualifications

• Must be 18+ years old.
• Entry level position; prior babysitting/childcare preferred.
• Basic computer skills (email, word processing, internet) required.
• Bilingual applicants encouraged.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• CDA Certificate or commitment to obtain CDA within 1 year (employer-paid) required.
• Early Childhood Education credits preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist 1–2 classrooms in planning and implementing routines, curriculum, meals, and related activities for preschool and/or infant/toddler children (ages 6 months–5 years).
• Support Head Start/Preschool children in a safe, nurturing environment under supervision of Lead Teacher(s) and Education Services Professional.
