Job summary

Mercy Health is seeking a dedicated Patient Care Technician for the St. Rita's Medical Center CCU (3B) in Lima, OH. This full-time night position runs 7pm–7am, with every third weekend coverage.

The PCT provides basic patient care under RN guidance, including vital signs, hygiene, mobility, and documentation with attention to patient comfort. Responsibilities include acting as a liaison between patients and nurses, delivering high-quality service to patients and families, and supporting the care

Qualifications

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Able to be proactive in a rapidly changing environment.
• Provide basic patient care and support under RN guidance.

Responsibilities

• Provides basic patient care including comfort, vital signs, hygiene, and mobility assistance.
• Acts as liaison between patient and nurse to report changes and concerns.
• Provides high-level customer service to patients, families, visitors, and staff.
• Documents patient care accurately and timely.
• Participates in hand-off/report of information at arrival and departure.
• Performs delegated tasks after competency validation.
• Mobilizes patients using safe transfer techniques.
• Encourage patient independence wherever possible.
• Individualizes care based on patient interests.
