Job summary

Cardinal Civil Contracting is seeking a CCTV Camera Operator in Charlotte, NC. The role inspects sanitary sewer, stormwater, and drainage pipelines using CCTV cameras, records findings, and supports repairs with construction crews.

Full-time position, 50–60 hours/week with occasional Saturdays. Requires driver’s license and ability to work on active construction sites with safety compliance.

Responsibilities

• Operate CCTV camera systems to inspect sanitary sewer, stormwater, and drainage pipelines.
• Perform pre- and post-cleaning inspections of pipelines.
• Identify and document defects, cracks, offsets, collapses, and other pipeline conditions.
• Read and interpret construction drawings (blueprints).
• Record video inspections and prepare accurate reports using industry software.
• Communicate findings to construction crews to support repairs.
• Drive the CCTV truck and operate the camera throughout the day.
• Maintain and troubleshoot CCTV inspection equipment.
• Keep the truck clean and complete regular weekly maintenance.
• Perform manual labor such as lifting storm box grates and sewer manhole lids.
• Model and enforce Cardinal’s safety program; follow confined space and traffic control procedures on every inspection.
• Comply with company policies, OSHA regulations, and DOT requirements applicable to the role.
• Other related duties as assigned.
