Job summary

Kundlas Consulting Group LLC is seeking a Transportation Engineer to support MTA New York City Transit’s DOS in CBTC modernization. You will lead operational readiness and organizational transformation to move from conventional signaling to CBTC operations, coordinating across departments to ensure readiness of workforce, processes, resources, and governance for successful CBTC implementation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in relevant field.
• Extensive transit/rail operations experience.
• Experience leading organizational transformation and operational readiness.
• Strong knowledge of CBTC systems and implications.
• Experience developing transformation plans and governance.
• Ability to coordinate across large organizations.
• Experience with executive and frontline stakeholders.
• Knowledge of safety, compliance, and program reporting.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and implementation of the CBTC readiness/transformation plan for DOS transition.
• Define requirements for organizational, operational, maintenance, and governance readiness.
• Identify staffing, training, procedures, and resource gaps and address them.
• Establish milestones, deliverables, and performance indicators for readiness.
• Oversee plan implementation and monitor progress toward readiness objectives.
• Coordinate new operating procedures, maintenance practices, and organizational structures.
• Collaborate with Operations, Signals, IT, Finance, Procurement, Safety, and Training teams.
• Secure staffing, equipment, funding, and resources for CBTC operations.
• Ensure compliance with MTA policies, safety requirements, and regulatory standards.
• Develop readiness reports, dashboards, risk logs, and executive-level updates.
