Job summary

WSP is seeking a CBTC Project Commercial Manager to support New York MTA CBTC projects where WSP plays a key role. This full‑time onsite role is based in New York and focuses on delivering commercial outcomes across the project lifecycle.

You will collaborate with project management, operations, legal, and finance to integrate best practices for schedule, cost, and risk, and to protect schedule, quality, and financial results.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, or related field.
• 15 years of experience in major infrastructure, aviation, transportation, and/or water/utility capital projects.
• Demonstrated expertise in construction contract change management, claims analysis, and commercial negotiations.
• Strong background in project controls, cost forecasting, schedule analysis, and risk management.
• Ability to produce and present executive‑level cost, schedule, risk, contingency allocation, and performance reporting.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with experience advising and influencing senior leadership and clients.
• Demonstrated experience in controlling and mitigating projects costs and risk exposure.

Responsibilities

• Provide commercial and project controls oversight on CBTC projects from start‑up through execution, closeout, and dispute resolution.
• Recommend and support the PMT in applying strategies for proper project setup to align with project control standards.
• Prepare, implement, and update the CMP covering how the PMT shall manage all commercial aspects of contracts and agreements.
• Establish a Performance Oversight Management Program to monitor progress and performance.
• Conduct value engineering evaluations.
• Perform cost management functions and required payment and invoicing.
• Perform risk management as required for the project.
• Provide oversight of contractor achievement and reporting of diversity goals.
