Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Minimum of two (2) years coding experience.
• Additional specialty coding certification or five (5) years coding experience.
• Certification as RHIT, CPC, or CCS.
• Proficiency in ICD-10 CM, CPT, and HCPCS.
• Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathophysiology, disease processes, medical terminology, and pharmacology.

Role Overview

As a CBO Coding Complex Specialist, you will review, analyze, and validate diagnostic and procedural codes for reimbursement and billing purposes. Your work ensures compliance with coding guidelines, supports medical research, and optimizes revenue. • Minimum of two (2) years coding experience.
• Additional specialty coding certification or five (5) years coding experience.
• Prior experience in a healthcare revenue cycle position.
• Certification as a Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT), CPC, or CCS.
• Proficiency in ICD-10 CM, CPT, and HCPCS coding.
• Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathophysiology, disease processes, medical terminology, and pharmacology.

Preferred:

• One to two (1-2) years college or additional course work in Accounting, Business, Healthcare Administration, or Medical Record Sciences.
• Specialty coding experience.
