Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of two years coding experience.
• Specialty coding certification or five years coding experience.
• Healthcare revenue cycle experience required.
• RHIT, CPC or CCS certification preferred.
• Proficiency in ICD-10-CM, CPT and HCPCS.
• Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology.

Responsibilities

• Review and validate diagnostic and procedural codes for reimbursement and billing.
• Abstract information from the EHR to compile databases for research and evaluation.
• Ensure coding guideline compliance and regulatory standards.
• Identify patterns in coding data and escalate issues for root-cause analysis.
• Assist team and collaborate to improve coding accuracy and efficiency.
