Qualifications

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• Minimum of two (2) years coding experience.
• Five (5) years coding experience or specialty certification.
• Prior experience in a healthcare revenue cycle position.
• RHIT/CPC/CCS certification.
• Proficiency in ICD-10 CM, CPT, and HCPCS coding.
• Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathophysiology, disease processes, medical terminology, and pharmacology.

Responsibilities

• Review and validate diagnostic and procedural codes applied by front-end coding and clinical teams.
• Abstract information from the electronic health record to compile patient databases for research and evaluation.
• Ensure compliance with coding guidelines, third-party reimbursement policies, and regulatory standards.
• Identify patterns and trends in coding data and elevate issues to support root-cause analysis.
• Assist team members and collaborate with colleagues to optimize coding accuracy and efficiency.
