A leading company in aviation services seeks an experienced aircraft maintenance technician to ensure the airworthiness of various aircraft. Services, repairs, and overhauls aircraft to ensure airworthiness. Repairs involve replacing and rebuilding aircraft structures of moderate difficulty, such as wings, fuselage, surface controls, and functional components including rigging, plumbing, and hydraulic units. Utilizes hand tools, power tools, machines, and equipment such as shears, sheet metal brake, welding equipment, rivet guns, and drills. Reads and interprets manufacturer's publications, maintenance manuals, service bulletins, and other specifications to determine feasibility and method of repairing or replacing malfunctioning or damaged components. Inspects airframe components for fluid leaks, cracks, and other damage. Troubleshoots, removes, replaces, and repairs aircraft structural and hydraulic system components. Performs miscellaneous duties to service aircraft systems. As required by site operations and management, certifies as a CDI. Prioritizes workload to maintain schedules and maintenance standards on assigned projects.
The candidate must have completed the Navy Class "C" school in airframe and hydraulic repair for the specific T/M/S aircraft billet, or USMC/USCG equivalent (Five years of organizational level experience on the applicable T/M/S aircraft may substitute for the Class "C" school). Must have at least five (5) years of experience in organizational-level airframes/hydraulics maintenance on similar T/M/S aircraft. Three (3) years of experience in the specific TIM required/Series preferred aircraft are required; two of these three years should be within the last three years. Engine turn qualified and Auxiliary Power Unit designated personnel shall be at least Level II mechanics. May need to become Plane Captain certified through an approved process for each T/M/S aircraft relevant to their background. Must hold a valid driver's license and be eligible for and able to maintain a secret clearance.
The candidate is required to maintain and service the applicable aircraft airframe and hydraulic systems/components in support of Air Test and Evaluation Squadron 31 RDT&E Programs, following applicable publications and instructions.
