Job summary

AgReserves, Inc. seeks an experienced Cattle Unit Manager to lead daily cattle operations on our ranches.

You will oversee animal welfare, pasture management, and team leadership within a safety-focused environment, aligning with our General Manager’s strategic goals. You will implement best practices, monitor herd performance, maintain infrastructure, and ensure accurate record-keeping while supervising staff and coordinating with leaseholders and internal teams.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in animal science, ranch management, or related field or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years of hands-on cattle operations experience, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role.
  • Strong knowledge of livestock handling, pasture/range management, and ranch equipment.
  • Familiarity with ranch management software, data entry, and maintaining accurate records and reports.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to work in remote outdoor environments.

Summary:

The Cattle Unit Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of a cattle unit. This role ensures high standards in animal welfare, pasture management, and team leadership, while aligning with the strategic goals set by the General Manager.   • Assist with and/or perform routine animal husbandry procedures, following established protocols and training, which may include vaccinations, ear tagging, branding, dehorning, castration, blood sampling, and euthanasia.
