Job summary

Hansen Agri-PLACEMENT, partnering with a progressive cattle finishing operation in Kansas, seeks a Cattle Care Feedlot Assistant to join a tight-knit team focused on performance, animal welfare, and continuous improvement.

You will monitor cattle health, assist with processing and shipping, and support all feedyard operations. Prior cattle/feedyard experience is preferred; a valid driver’s license is required, and training is available.

Qualifications

• Previous cattle or feedyard experience preferred (but willing to train the right person).
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Strong work ethic and reliability—you show up ready to work.
• Team player with a positive attitude and willingness to learn.
• Attention to detail and a genuine interest in animal health and care.

Responsibilities

• Monitor daily cattle health and behavior to ensure top performance.
• Identify, pull, and treat sick or injured cattle with attention to detail.
• Oversee and manage hospital pens to maintain recovery and care standards.
• Assist with processing, receiving, and shipping cattle.
• Jump in where needed - supporting all aspects of feedyard operations.
• Work alongside a team that values efficiency, communication, and accountability.
