Virginia Beach SPCA is seeking a Cattery Manager to lead a team of dedicated animal care professionals and oversee daily feline and small animal operations. This full-time role emphasizes hands-on leadership and collaboration across departments to maintain the highest welfare standards.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

What You’ll Do
As Cattery Manager, you’ll lead a team of dedicated animal care professionals and help create an environment where our adoptable feline and small animal populations receive the highest standard of care. Along with overseeing the daily care of the feline and small animal populations, you will work closely with other organizational departments to maintain and develop a wide range of community programs. This is an active, hands-on leadership position for someone who enjoys supporting a team, providing quality animal care, and making a meaningful difference in our community.

The VBSPCA Shelter is a busy, fast-paced environment, and no two days are exactly alike. We’re looking for someone who:

• Has a genuine passion for animal welfare - Minimum of 3 years experience required
• Enjoys leading, coaching, and supporting a team - Minimum of a year experience in a leadership role
• Is organized, dependable, and able to manage competing priorities
• Has strong communication and customer service skills
• Is comfortable working in an active shelter environment
• Takes pride in providing compassionate, high-quality care
• Works collaboratively with shelter, veterinary, and customer service teams
• Meets the qualifications outlined in the attached job description

This is a full time position at 40 hours per week with a Salary Range - $42,000 - $46,000 annually. Starting compensation will be based on experience and qualifications.

The VBSPCA Shelter is staffed 7 days a week from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Our management team is expected to work at least one closing shift each week.
