Job summary

CARES (Community Assistance Resources and Extended Services, Inc.) is seeking staff to support short-term respite retreats for participants aged 9 and up. The role includes traveling to the Catskills and camping-like activities, with on-site duties for several days per trip.

Ideal candidates hold a NYS driver's license with a clean record, have camp counseling experience, and are enthusiastic about working with participants.

Qualifications

• Must have NYS Driver's License with clean driving record.
• Prior experience as a camp counselor or recreational program is highly preferred.
• Bilingual ability is a plus.
• Complete all trainings including safety protocols from the Agency prior to start.
• Demonstrate enthusiasm and excitement to participants; perform routine safety checks.
• Perform related duties as assigned by supervisor; maintain compliance with policies.
• High school diploma or GED is required.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate a camp-like experience for participants aged 9+ during short-term trips.
• Drive a sprinter van with multiple passengers for long distances.
• Lead and supervise daily activities and organize outings.
• Travel to the Catskills for 4–5 day trips on a short-term schedule.
• Be on-site for multiple days with opportunities for overtime.
