Job summary

ALIGN PRECISION seeks an experienced CATIA Programmer to translate CATIA V5 models into CNC programs for large aerostructure components on gantry mills. You will build manufacturing models, select tooling, and optimize toolpaths for aluminum, titanium, and composites.

You will verify programs with Vericut, support first-article setups, and ensure GD&T compliance while contributing to continuous improvement and AS9100 documentation.

Qualifications

• 5+ years CNC programming with CATIA V5 (Manufacturing/Machining workbenches) for large-part/aerostructure machining.
• Experience programming multi-axis gantry or large-envelop machines.
• Strong CATIA surfacing and manufacturing modules knowledge.
• Understanding of aerospace materials and their machining characteristics (Al, Ti).
• Reading complex drawings, GD&T, and 3D models.
• Familiarity with Vericut or equivalent toolpath verification.
• Ability to obtain/maintain ITAR clearance.

Responsibilities

• Develop, test, and optimize 3-, 4-, and 5-axis CNC programs using CATIA V5 for large gantry-style machining centers.
• Program complex aerostructure components from CATIA models and engineering drawings.
• Build and maintain manufacturing models, stock definitions, fixtures, and tooling libraries within CATIA.
• Optimize toolpaths for material removal rate, cycle time, tool life, and surface finish.
• Post-process CATIA toolpaths and troubleshoot post-output for gantry machines.
• Support first-article setup and provide on-machine troubleshooting and edits.
• Ensure programs meet GD&T requirements and first-article inspection standards.
• Maintain program documentation and setup sheets per AS9100.
