Job summary

The Archdiocese of St. Louis seeks a part-time Substitute Teacher to cover classes when the regular teacher is absent. You will implement pre-planned lessons and support students’ academic, social, and spiritual growth in line with Catholic school values.

This is an as-needed role with call-based scheduling. You will communicate with administration, file end-of-day reports, and uphold confidentiality. Pre-employment screening is required as part of the process.

Responsibilities

• Follow and deliver lesson plans and instructional materials provided by the regular classroom teacher.
• Maintain a safe, orderly, respectful, and welcoming learning environment.
• Supervise students and manage classroom behavior using positive strategies.
• Take and accurately record student attendance.
• Provide instruction and assistance as outlined in the teacher's plans.
• Monitor student safety and follow school policies on supervision and emergencies.
