Job summary

The Archdiocese of San Antonio is seeking a substitute teacher to maintain continuity of learning when the regular teacher is absent. You will carry out lesson plans and support classroom instruction in alignment with diocesan policies.

You will supervise students, reinforce instruction, and attend to their physical, personal, academic, and emotional needs while upholding Catholic education values and safety standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Minimum of 1 year of substituting or teaching experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supports and upholds the philosophy of Catholic education and the mission of the school.
• Acts as a witness to Gospel values by modeling the teachings of the Catholic Church.
• Maintains confidentiality regarding school matters.
• Provide instructional reinforcement for individual students or small groups.
• Supervise students in the cafeteria, schoolyard, specials, hallways, on field trips, and before/after school programs.
• Attend to students’ physical, personal, academic, and emotional needs.
• Perform other duties as directed by the classroom teacher and school administration.
