Job summary

Progeny Human Resource Solutions is seeking a Cardiac Catheter Lab Technician for a full-time role in Florida. You will assist physicians during cardiac cath lab procedures, pacemaker/ICD insertions, and interventional radiology by operating monitoring systems and scrubbing as needed.

Responsibilities include patient preparation, assisting with diagnostic and interventional procedures, ensuring image quality, safety, and documentation, as well as equipment readiness and inventory management.

Qualifications

• Must possess one of the following: ARRT or RCIS certification.
• BLS certification required.
• ACLS certification required.
• Prior experience with general vascular and/or coronary angiography.
• Thorough knowledge of cardiac arrhythmia interpretation and cardiac anatomy.
• Prior IR experience is a plus.
• RCIS certification required within 24 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assists physicians during cardiac cath lab procedures, pacemaker/ICD insertions, Interventional Radiology and other procedures by operating the physiologic/hemodynamic monitoring computer or scrubbing.
• Provides patient care to adult and geriatric patients.
• Prepares patients by reviewing history, draping, positioning, preparing sites and administering contrast/media within scope of practice.
• Assists physician with diagnostic and vascular interventional procedures.
• Reviews results and addresses image quality issues.
• Prepares equipment and supplies including sterile trays.
• Selects exposure factors and imaging parameters.
• Implements safety standards and quality control on equipment.
• Troubleshoots equipment malfunctions.
• Maintains department operations and documents procedures in hospital systems; records billing and statistics; maintains infection control standards and inventory.

• The Cardiac Cath Lab Technician reports to the Cath Lab Coordinator and is responsible for assisting physicians during cardiac cath lab procedures, pacemaker/ICD insertions, Interventional Radiology and other miscellaneous procedures by operating the physiologic / hemodynamic monitoring computer and/or scrubbing for invasive cardiac and vascular procedures.


• Provides patient care to adult and geriatric patients.


• Prepares patients for procedures by reviewing medical history, draping and positioning the patient, preparing procedural/testing sites and administering contrast media and/or medications within scope of practice.


• Assists physician with performing diagnostic and vascular interventional procedures.


• Reviews results and takes appropriate action to resolve image quality issues.


• Prepares equipment and supplies including sterile trays.


• Selects appropriate exposure factors and imaging parameters.


• Implements safety standards and performs appropriate quality control procedures on equipment.

• Must possess one (1) of the following required certifications: American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS).


• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) certification
