Job summary

Baptist Memorial Health Care Corporation in Mississippi seeks a Cardiac Cath/EP Lab assistant to scrub, circulate, and monitor under the supervising cardiologist. You will support cardiovascular procedures and apply lab protocols to ensure patient safety.

Responsibilities include selecting optimal technique and positioning, developing and implementing plans, documenting in accordance with hospital policies, and maintaining labs and equipment.

Qualifications

• 1 year Cardiac Cath or EP lab experience.
• Graduate of accredited Cardiovascular Associate's degree or Surgical Technology or Radiology program.
• BLS within 14 days; ACLS within 6 months; RCIS/RCES or CST or ARRT(R) certification.

Responsibilities

• Scrub, circulate, and monitor in Cardiac Cath/EP Lab under supervision.
• Use appropriate technique and positioning for optimal procedures.
• Develop and implement procedure/treatment plans.
• Document per hospital policies.
• Maintain equipment and labs in a clean, safe condition.
• Participate in Performance Improvement activities.
• Complete assigned goals.

Job description

Assists in cardiovascular procedures in the Cardiac Cath and EP Lab by scrubbing, circulating, and monitoring under the supervision of the performing interventional cardiologist or electrophysiologist. Provides technical support in the diagnosis and treatment of heart and vascular disease.

• Demonstrates a thorough understanding of Cardiac Cath Lab/ EP Lab principals/theory and utilizes the
• most appropriate technique and positioning for optimal procedures/treatments, as demonstrated by procedure/treatment results.
• Develops appropriate procedure/treatment plan.
• Implements procedure/treatment plan utilizing established hospital protocols/guidelines and
• according to current competencies and scope of practice.
• Completes documentation as required to comply with hospital policies and procedures.
• Maintains equipment, procedure/treatment rooms, and work areas in a neat and safe condition to
• ensure the safety of patients and staff.
• Participates in hospital and departmental Performance Improvement activities to ensure that
• patient care is consistent with established standards.
• Completes assigned goals.

Experience

• Minimum of 1 year Cardiac Cath or EP lab experience.

Education

• Graduate of an accredited Cardiovascular Associate's degree or accredited Surgical Technology program or accredited Radiology program

Licensure

• BLS Certification within 14 DAYS of HIRE; ACLS certification within 6 months of hire; RCIS/RCES certification or CST certification or ARRT(R)
