Job summary

St. Luke's Health-Sugar Land Hospital in Sugar Land, TX is seeking a skilled Cath Lab Tech to support diagnostic and therapeutic cardiovascular procedures in the cath lab.

You will independently operate imaging and ancillary equipment (IVUS, rotablator, IMPELLA, atherectomy devices, laser, angiojet), scrub for procedures, apply radiation safety practices, and help interpret results to guide patient care.

Qualifications

• Associates Of Science, upon hire
• Minimum three (3) years clinical experience in a hospital setting, upon hire
• Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist, upon hire
• Registered Technologist Radiography ARRT, upon hire
• Basic Life Support - CPR, within 14 days
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support, within 6 months

Responsibilities

• Operates the radiographic equipment utilizing radiation safety procedures
• Operates physiologic recorder/database system with expertise recognizing arrhythmias and normal/abnormal waveforms
• Operates manifold, power injector, and other support equipment (VCR, ACT machines, oximeters, and transport monitors)
• Develops cines when necessary according to policy
• Able to recognize basic equipment malfunctions and troubleshoot equipment in room
• Exhibits a strong knowledge base of cardiovascular diseases and is able to interpret data gathered during procedures and recognize potential implications in patient care or complications
