Qualifications

• Associate or Bachelor’s degree with a science emphasis or commensurate healthcare experience.
• Current AHA Advanced Cardio Life Support certification is required or preferred.
• RCIS certification within six months of hire.
• ARRT and TX RT(R) credentials may substitute RCIS.

Responsibilities

• Assists in teaching and orientation of students and new staff.
• Assists physician as a monitor tech during cath lab procedures by interpreting basic and advanced dysrhythmia and EKGs and operating physiologic recorder.
• Assists physician with procedures as a scrub tech and operates imaging equipment under physician direction.
• Assists with diagnostic procedures as a circulator by monitoring patient status during a procedure and handing supplies.
• Transports patients to and from the department.
• Cleans and stocks cath lab and demonstrates knowledge of medications and dosages used.
• Demonstrates theoretical knowledge of procedures and orders supplies for cath lab.
• Post procedure safety, removes arterial/venous sheath, maintains hemostasis and monitors patient status.
• Prepares lab and patient for procedures and manages sterile technique.
• Troubleshoots equipment problems.

Education

Associate or Bachelor’s degree, science emphasis or commensurate healthcare experience

AHA Advanced Cardio Life Support certification

RCIS certification within six months of date of hire

ARRT and TX RT(R) required in lieu of RCIS
