Job description

Purpose:

As an employee of Trinity Health System, it is the responsibility of this and all positions within the Hospital to support the mission and role of Trinity Health System. In addition, this position will actively support the Hospital's Strategic Plan in the areas of People, Service, Quality, Finance and Growth, in a team-based environment. The employee also performs all job duties in compliance with laws and regulation in the observance of accrediting agency standards. As a key member of the multidisciplinary team, this staff member performs duties relative to the direct and indirect care of patients undergoing interventional procedures in the Cardiac Catheterization Suite. To accomplish these tasks, the staff member utilizes a variety of highly sophisticated radiographic and hemodynamic monitoring equipment; scrubs with the interventionalists; performs sheath removals achieving good hemostasis; participates in quality control monitoring and reporting; maintains inventory and equipment. Demonstrates the ability to utilize independent judgment in the completion of specialized tasks with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities:

• Operates imaging equipment to achieve optimal views and projections of the cardiac/peripheral anatomy for diagnostic and interventional procedures while maintaining safety precautions at all times. Practices sterile technique, scrubs for procedures as designated and provides assistance to the physicians and other team members throughout the course of the procedure. Ensures Radiologic, hemodynamic and imaging equipment functions properly for all procedures and initiates corrective responses. Operates the physiologic monitoring and recording equipment and is able to recognize, document and inform the physician of changing values.
• Maintains and controls inventory as utilized in conjunction with diagnostic and interventional procedures. Performs sheath removal and achieves good hemostasis utilizing appropriate mechanisms. Rotates call with other team members.
• Graduate of an A.M.A. approved Radiology Technology Program with current standing with the American Registry of Radiologist Technologists (ARRT) and current Ohio License.
• Minimum 2 years recent experience in a full service Cardiac Catheterization Lab preferred.
• Critical Care experience preferred.

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:

• Graduate of an A.M.A. approved Radiology Technology Program with current standing with the American Registry of Radiologist Technologists (ARRT) and current Ohio License.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS). ACLS provider or obtain within 12 months of hire.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR). BLS Provider upon hire prior to start date.
• Certified Cardiology Technician
