Job summary

OhioHealth in Pickerington, OH is seeking a Cath Lab/Interventional Radiology Radiologic Technologist to support diagnostic and interventional procedures as an assistant to the Interventional Cardiologist/Radiologist. Responsibilities include scrubbing, monitoring, and circulating with emphasis on sterile technique and patient safety.

The VIR role focuses on image-guided vascular procedures using fluoroscopy and ultrasound, with a day shift and a 36-hour workweek.

Qualifications

• ACLS, BLS, ARRT certification and Ohio licensure required.
• Radiologic licensure and ARRT registration required.
• Ability to scrub, monitor, and circulate in Cath Lab and VIR settings.

Responsibilities

• Assist Interventional Cardiologist/Radiologist in diagnostic and interventional procedures.
• Scrub, monitor, and circulate; ensure sterile technique and patient safety.
• Support QA and radiation safety practices as part of the lab team.

Job Description Summary

Cath Lab/Interventional Radiology Specific

The Cath Lab/IR Radiologic Technologist must be competent as the assistant to the Interventional Cardiologist/Radiologist for diagnostic and interventional procedures in roles that include scrubbing, monitoring, and circulating. The technologist must have knowledge of the X-ray equipment in use, hemodynamic monitoring, coronary and peripheral anatomy, and sterile technique.

Vascular Interventional (VIR) Specific

The VIR Radiologic Technologist must be competent as the assistant to the Interventional Radiologist for minimally invasive, image-guided vascular procedures in roles that include scrubbing, monitoring, and circulating. The technologist must have knowledge of the various imaging equipment in use including fluoroscopy and ultrasound.

Days/Full-Time - $25,000 sign on bonus with a one-year commitment to OhioHealth

Responsibilities And Duties

• 85% Radiologic technologist must be competent as the assistant to the Interventionalist in specific area as described above in summary for each area.
• 10% Greets patients upon arrival to department. Checks chart for required data (i.e., informed consent). Reports absences or abnormalities to RN/physician. Explains procedures, gives instructions, and answers patients' questions. Participates in room turnover and transporting of patients.
• (5%) Assists Radiation Safety officer in QA of labs and radiation protective apparel on regular basis. Performs tasks using radiation safety principles; checks lead aprons for tears; reports findings and removes inadequate gear from service; maintains accurate records or work with Radiology department to maintain records.
