Job summary

Riverview Health in Noblesville, IN is seeking a Cath Lab Radiologic Technologist to prepare and operate imaging equipment for cardiac catheterization procedures, administer contrast, and assist physicians. You will monitor patients, collect procedure data, and ensure safety and quality in the Cath Lab.

Minimum requirements include an Associate degree in Radiologic Technology, ARRT certification with Indiana licensure, and BLS; ACLS is preferred.

Qualifications

• Associates or better in Radiologic Technology or related field.
• Current ARRT certification (Radiography) and Indiana Radiology Technologist license.
• BLS (American Heart Association) required; ACLS preferred.
• Two years of cardiac cath or interventional radiology experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare equipment for all procedures performed in the Cath Lab.
• Adjust equipment for proper exposure and monitor operation; assist with QC and maintenance.
• Connect, operate and troubleshoot procedural and monitoring equipment.
• Educate patients about X-ray procedures and obtain informed consent as needed.
• Enter data into computer systems for physician/RN assessment.
• Perform required testing with all equipment and document results.
• Serve as scrub assistant for Cath Lab procedures.
• Identify opportunities for department improvements and implement changes.
• Serve as a preceptor for new hires and transfers.

Job Summary

The Cath Lab Radiologic Technologist prepares and operates imaging equipment used in cardiac catheterization lab procedures, administers contrast, assists the physician with all procedures, monitors the patient, and collects data for physician and/or RN assessment.

Job Responsibilities

• Prepare equipment for all procedures performed in the Cath Lab.
• Accurately adjust equipment for proper exposure in accordance with radiation safety. Monitor the operation of Radiographic equipment during procedures and assist with quality control and maintenance of department equipment.
• Connecting, operating and troubleshooting of procedural and monitoring equipment.
• Provide patients with education and explanation or X-ray procedures that will be performed.
• Collect data from each procedure and accurately enter information into appropriate computer systems for physician and/or RN assessment.
• Perform required and recommended testing with all equipment and record the information before completion of procedure.
• Serve as scrub assist to provider for all types of procedures performed in the Cath Lab.
• Identify opportunities for improvement in departmental operational practices, policies and procedures and take action to inform or make appropriate changes within scope of authority.
• Serve as a preceptor for new hires or transfers to the department and provide job specific training as assigned.
• Perform Laboratory testing according to CLIA 88 regulations.
• Serve on call for rotating weekend, holiday and week-nights as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.

Education Requirements

• Minimum: Associate degree and graduate of an approved school of Radiologic Technology

Experience Requirements

• Minimum: New graduates welcome
• Preferred: Two (2) years of cardiac cath or interventional radiology experience

License/Certification Requirements

Minimum:

• Current American Registry Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) and Radiology Technologist License in the State of Indiana
