UAB Medicine is seeking a Cardiac Cath Lab Technician to assist physicians in diagnosing and treating cardiac and peripheral vascular diseases. You will act as scrub, monitor, and circulator, operating EKG, x-ray, and hemodynamic equipment in a fast-paced cath lab setting.

Requirements include CPR and ACLS certification, RCIS/ARRT registration, and 2 years of cath lab experience preferred. On-site role at UAB St. Vincent's Birmingham with 4x10s and 5x8s schedules and on-call duties.

Qualifications

• Current CPR certification required or must be obtained within thirty (30) days of hire.
• ACLS certification from the American Heart Association required within six (6) months from hire.
• Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) or ARRT registration.
• Two years' experience in a cardiac catheterization lab or electrophysiology lab may substitute for licensure/certification/registration.
• High School Diploma or equivalent; one year of experience preferred.

Responsabilités

• Admits and orients patient to cardiac cath lab per pre-procedural checklist.
• Functions as scrub assistant; maintains sterile field per policy.
• Monitors patient vital signs and procedure; operates EKG, x-ray and hemodynamic equipment.
• Interacts with patient regarding comfort and safety during the procedure.
• Operates equipment including IABP, stents, rotablator, and other cath lab devices safely.
