Job summary

We are seeking an experienced Cath Lab Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team at Vascular Centers of America in Chicago, IL. As a Cath Lab RN, you will provide procedural nursing care in a fast-paced outpatient Cath Lab and Interventional Radiology environment during vascular procedures.

This per diem role offers flexible shifts, with a minimum of 2-3 shifts per month, weekend and weekday options, and shifts typically run about 12 hours.

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Illinois.
• Sedation experience required.
• Cath lab or ER/ICU experience.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with patient safety in mind.

Responsibilities

• Provide procedural nursing care in a fast-paced outpatient Cath Lab and Interventional Radiology environment during vascular procedures.
• Prepare patients for procedures, including assessments, IV placement, and patient education.
• Administer and monitor conscious sedation during procedures while maintaining patient comfort and safety.
• Monitor patients throughout procedures and respond appropriately to changes in patient condition.
• Provide post-procedure Recovery/PACU care, including recovery monitoring, discharge education, and patient documentation.
• Collaborate with physicians, technologists, and other clinical team members to ensure seamless patient care.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all patient care activities.
• Adhere to infection control, safety, and procedural protocols within the outpatient procedure lab.
