Job summary

Methodist Midlothian Medical Center seeks a Cardiovascular Tech RCIS to assist in invasive cardiovascular procedures under physician supervision. The role supports monitoring, scrub and circulator duties in the cath lab, requiring aseptic technique and teamwork.

Qualified candidates will have an associate or bachelor’s degree in science/healthcare, active ACLS, and RCIS or ARRT/TX RT(R) eligibility within six months of hire; hospital expertise includes robotic surgery and advanced imaging.

Qualifications

• Associate or Bachelor’s degree, science emphasis or commensurate healthcare experience.
• Current American Heart Association (AHA) Advanced Cardio Life Support certification.
• RCIS certified within six months of date of hire.
• ARRT and TX RT(R) required in lieu of RCIS.

Responsibilities

• Assists in teaching and orientation of students and new staff.
• Assists physician as a monitor tech during cath lab procedures by interpreting basic and advanced dysrhythmia and EKGs and operating physiologic recorder, and interpreting pressures and waveforms.
• Assists physician with most procedures as a scrub tech and operates imaging equipment under direction of physician.
• Assists with transport of patient to and from department.
• Cleans and stocks cath lab and maintains sterile technique.
