Job summary

Ochsner Health is seeking a Radiologic Technologist for the cardiac catheterization lab to operate fluoroscopy equipment, monitor patient vitals, and assist physicians during procedures. The role involves preparing rooms, ensuring patient safety, and maintaining image workflows in PACS.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in radiologic sciences is required; bachelor's preferred.
• Required BLS certification; ACLS within 6 months of hire; ARRT registration.
• Registered Radiologic Technologist in-state and ARRT certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Assist team in patient setup and prep before procedures and post-procedure cleanup using safe transfer techniques.
• Document procedures and interventions for accurate billing in the procedure log.
• Operate radiographic fluoroscopy to obtain diagnostic images of coronary and peripheral vessels.
• Monitor hemodynamics during procedures and report values to the physician.
• Manage radiation dose delivery to ensure patient safety and staff exposure controls.
• Transmit, archive, and retrieve digital images in PACS.
• Perform quality control and regular maintenance of fluoroscopy equipment.
• Adapt interactions to diverse patient populations and comply with regulatory requirements.
